Queens Diamond Jubilee Pub Opening Times

Pubs will be allowed to stay open until 1am on Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2 to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Landlords will not have to apply for permission from local licensing authorities.

The celebrations will centre around an extended weekend in 2012 on 2, 3, 4 and 5 June, as the nation marks the Queen's 60 years on the throne.

The government consulted councils, police and licensees before approving the blanket relaxation of trading hours for the Diamond Jubilee.

It also asked for feedback on a proposal to change pub opening times on the days of the opening and closing ceremonies for the London Olympics, but eventually rejected the idea.

The late May bank holiday has been moved to Monday 4 June 2012 and an additional Jubilee bank holiday will take place on Tuesday 5 June 2012.The extra bank holiday and extended bank holiday weekend also applies to Scotland.
